A day in the boxer’s way
I wake up and check inward before I let my feet hit the floor. They represent the balance I will carry into every interaction….each step carefully placed to put myself in position, Where do I move from? Where are the blockages, the mis-steps, the adhesions pulling me out of alignment? Each task I face- a referent for the space I occupy. A gap between me and what I want. Who gets it?
I over plan until I get caught in the in between- an outside blow reminding myself to become physical again. Seeing the spaces in between so I can orient my center of gravity and get back to response over reaction. The yin and yang of thought and action.
I’m looking for the place that fists fly with feet firmly planted while in motion. It is here the “no-mind” exists and autonomy is supreme.
Each chore I accomplish- feedback for the ring…..The ring- feedback for daily spaces. Cyclical….not a compartmentalized existence. Nothing to do but pay attention.
