Opening this business is a lot like getting ready for a boxing match.
In the beginning of competitive life, you know nothing about your opponent. You have no idea how they are going to show up in the ring when you are in there with them. You don’t know how skilled they are, or how hard they punch. You aren’t sure if you will hit the mat or stay on your feet.
You do know their name, how much you have prepared for them, how many rounds you have sparred to get ready and that the bell will ring at the beginning and end of each round. You also know your corner will be there for you.
I’m a passionate person (some call it emotional depending who you are in my life) I talk about my emotions openly, I’m open about my experience, my fears, my worries, my confidences, basically everything. So, here I go again……..
I’m feeling the stress of the unknown. When I’m stressed, I talk incessantly and typically drive folks crazy. So, if you see me walking down the street talking to myself, you will know that I have driven everyone away temporarily and now I am the only one listening to my goings on. The emotions go in waves and feel manageable then overwhelming, then manageable again.
This is an exciting, stressful and amazing time that I know I will only experience once. Many of you have been through this process before and I am thankful for your words of support, encouragement and advice. I am embracing every emotion pouring through me……going over my past, thinking about how I got here, thinking about what I want to do and accomplish. Thinking about how I am going to handle all the changes this business will bring to my life.
I am scared and I like it, because I will forever be changed. I will be entirely different even 6 months from now and will then be able to share this experience with all of you in hopes it helps.
Most of all, I am excited to be indoors boxing providing a home for those of you who want it. I can’t wait to see you all on the 6th.
Till then, don’t mind my being all over the place, I’ll settle down once the bell rings and we will get some good work done.
