Perspective really is everything.
I go back and forth with how I see setbacks. Running into a lot of “no’s”, “not yets” and cancellations are all different setbacks. Sometimes I get my heart broken in the process and I feel like I just can’t take another step backwards. I feel like I just can’t put myself out there anymore.
But just as I think that I can’t take another step backwards, I remember the great Ginger Rogers only took steps backwards for her forward movement, and she did it brilliantly. Even at the age of 92- still brilliant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O-o5gwi4HI
If Ginger Rogers can gracefully move backwards all the time and accomplish all she did, then I most certainly can take a few steps backwards and keep moving to meet my accomplishments.
