It’s 1:30am and now Sunday- The day after the USA Boxing National Championships. There are many new champions and several repeaters.
The Pacific Northwest had 3 boxers in the finals. 2 ended with Gold Medals and one a heartbreaking silver that looks like gold to me.
I am so happy to be a part of such an incredible journey. It has been an unbelievable experience.
I cannot put into words what this week has been like, so instead, I want to take a minute to thank everyone who believed in Jen Hamann and myself. It started with us basically knocking door to door and saying, “Hey! we are going to Nationals and we think we can win this thing. Can you donate to make it possible?”
Thank you to Ari Kohn and The Post Prison Education Program, Feed Bag Provisions, Impact Strength and Performance, Twilight Exit, Neighbor Lady, Madrona Pub, Play Doggie Day Care, Kismet Salon, Good Hair Salon, Trueman Buffet Photography, Ebbets Fields Flannels, Girlie Press, Office Nomads, Renew Physical Therapy, Dr. Loren A Tarr DDS, Seatown Healing Hands, Wimmer Solutions, 12th & Madison Self Storage, Leslie Hamada, The Ensemble Practice, Momentum Nutrition and Fitness, tons of individual donors AND the entire Road to Gold Team (check them out at http://www.hamannroadtogold.org)
This is only one accomplishment in a very long journey.
EPIC IS A WAY OF LIFE!
For now, I just want to say thank you to a community that believes in community, dreamers, the sport of boxing and representing our country in sport.
I’m going to bed happy with all the hard work that Jen put in and that she was able to perform and take care of business. Hats off to you champ, you really did Seattle proud.
